Shaman In Plain Sight -- Reflection
I spent part of a summer wandering around the New England states, taking photos. A number of those photos are included in this project, because the New England woods are so photogenic!
When I walk in the woods alone, I sometimes see things out of the corner of my eye. When I turn to look, those first few tenths of a second reveal a picture quite different from what I see once my brain has kicked in to label the item. I've glimpsed a bear in downtown Omaha (someone's brown winter coat thrown over a bench), a twenty-foot python in the woods in Iowa (a twisty tree branch fallen to the ground with a split at the big end of the branch), and now a fur-covered Shaman (in the form of an owl, perhaps?) in the northeast woods.
What did you see when you first glanced at the image?
Reflection Points: This PhotoSinryu invites us to allow our imaginations to show us things that our rational brains will not allow. On a subconscious level, these experiences can add another layer of intrigue -- some call it magic -- to our lives. Is there information that your subconscious is trying to give you? What might you do (drawing, free writing, daydreaming, etc.) to give it your attention? Relaxation and keeping an open mind are keys to the process. Are there changes you can make to your life to relax and gaze with child-like wonder at the world around you?
